How to Cook Sweet Potatoes
Just as there are a number of different toppings you can add to dress up your sweet potatoes, there are also a number of different methods for cooking them.
- Baked Sweet Potatoes – Poke holes in the potatoes with a fork and coat with olive oil and salt. Place on a baking sheet and bake at425° F (220° C) for 40-50 minutes or until slightly crispy on the outside and soft when pinched with your fingers.
- Air Fryer Sweet Potatoes – Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook in the air fryer to 390° F (200° C) for 45 minutes, flipping half way through. After 45 minutes squeeze the potatoes. If not squishy, continue cooking for 5 more minutes.
- Instant Pot Sweet Potatoes – Place a trivet in the bottom of the Instant Pot. Add 1 cup water to the pot and place the potatoes on the trivet. Lock the lid and cook 12 minutes for medium sized and 14 for larger potatoes. When done do a natural release for 10 minutes then release the remaining pressure.
