Keto Seeded Bread Recipe - Low Carb Bread With Seeds (1)

This bread is similar to my famous keto bread recipe but tastes much more like real bread due to the addition of seeds such as sesame seeds and chia seeds.

Having eggs on toast…. Without the toast… just sucks! So having bread for the occasional times when needed is a real blessing.

Expert Tips

Make sure when you make this low carb bread, that you place baking paper in the tray whilst baking. The first time I did this, was without baking paper. Trust me, this is not what you want to be scraping out of the tin. Low carb bread recipes can be quite tricky to remove from the baking tin.

Most butter found in Australia is grass fed for the majority of its life. The reason grass-fed butter has been pushed within the ketogenic community is thatnot many countries have access to good quality butter, and mainly rely on many grain-fedcattle from different parts of the world.

Butter from grass-fed cows is also much higher in Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin K2, compared to butter from grain-fed cows. As you can see, butter from grass-fed cows is a much healthier and more nutritious choice.

Kerrygold butter is the best butter to use, but here in Australia, Kerrygold can be expensive.

If you want to know more about what different types of butter are best for what, you can read my guide on butter for some clarification.

One of my readers (Stephanie), who has made it over 20 times, sent some fantastic tips for this recipe:

  • Adding *ground* flax seed works even better than sesame seeds, still, recommend sesame seeds on top
  • Room temp eggs make all the difference in creating a higher loaf
  • Toast before eating!! you should hear the butter sizzle
  • I’ve always made this with salted butter and comes out tasting perfect
  • Refrigerate after a day or two (max) in room temp, as I think xanthan gum starts to do something weird after that

This is the only keto bread I consistently bake to have around the house (and closest I’ve found to real bread), good for breakfast with some avocado or eggs! Also, really great for your digestive system due to all the fibre.

Thanks for the helpful tips, Stephanie!

Ingredients

  • 7 large Eggs
  • 2 Cups Almond Flour 170g / 6 oz
  • 1/2 Cup unsalted butter 100g / 3.5 oz
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil 30ml / 1 fl oz
  • 2 Tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 3 Tbsp Sesame Seeds

  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Instructions

  • Bake for 40 minutes. (Remove once a skewer comes out of the middle clean).

  • Can be sliced into 16 slices. Best kept in the fridge for up to 5 days, or frozen for up to 3 weeks.

This is my regular go to recipe for my keto bread. I love it! I want to make it for my daughter who needs a dairy free version. I’m going to try using extra olive oil instead of butter. Hopefully it will turn out as good!

As someone who craves bread when going keto – not just bread, but toast, sandwiches, and something to have with your pate – this bread really does the trick of approximating a “real bread” experience, particularly when toasted.
Hopefully someone can answer this question. My only compaint with this bread is that it came out rather scant and flat looking. I think that Australian loaf pans must be smaller than Canadian ones, because I made the recipe spot-on and it filled less than half of a loaf pan. So my question: Can I double this recipe and get the same great results? I realize that I may have to tweak baking time. Please let me know!

Oh my! I try new keto Bread recipes on a regular basis. This was such a great bread. It was so good! I have never liked Keto based bread until now. This was so easy but I did make some changes today. Eggs have gone up so much that I wanted to try something different. Instead of 7 eggs, I used 6 egg whites that come from a carton. I then added one whole egg. SO 6 egg whites and one whole egg. Instead of the Sesame Seed, I used Flax meal. I topped the bread with the Sesame Seeds before baking. This had NO eggy taste and was very low cost to make. Thank you!!

This looks good. What happens if you use salted butter?

In reality, adding salted butter won’t change much especially on a keto diet (as we’re used to a little extra salt)

Really delicious bread- nice texture. Plan to freeze in slices ready to toast in the morning. I used a combination of ground flax seeds and sesame seeds. Great topped with grass fed butter/ avocado- and very filling.

LOVED this! So delicious and and yummy! My question is—how can I add in sunflower seeds to amp the “seediness“ flavor? Please give your thoughts and directions on this (I am definitely not a baker so can’t wing it lol)
